Located on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Broad Street, Donut World is not much to look at; essentially nothing more than a small, grey-sided building. But wow, do they work wonders inside that little space. In the early morning hours, you can smell the sweet aromas of baking donuts for blocks around the area, and I often find my car inexplicably heading that way even though it is not directly on my way to work. The variety is amazing; from the usual suspects of glazed and fruit filled to incredibly large apple fritters and Bismarcks. Order a dozen and you get a simple white box with a hand stamped logo consisting of a man made of donuts.
This place does one thing and does it right. You can get coffee (which is not bad), but apart from donuts, that is it. They are open 24 hours a day but you need to bring cash; no checks or credit cards. But it is worth it. Having been spoiled by them for several years, I can't imagine going back to the stale little lumps of dough sold by Tim Horton's or Dunkin Donuts.
And just in case you don't believe my high praise for this place, check them out on Urbanspoon.
Have to agree; this place is great. Close by and dangerously easy to walk to!
